Hello Everyone,
I was astonished when I looked and saw that it had been 3 weeks since I had sent a post. I couldn't believe it. Time is getting too fast. I hope that this message will be of help to someone.
Blessings and Shalom,

AS THEY WENT, THEY WERE HEALED
INTRODUCTION
Scripture [Luke 17:12-19]
[12] “And as he was going into one village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance.”
[13] “ And they raised up their voices and called, Jesus, Master, take pity and have mercy on us!”
[14] “And when he saw them, he said to them, ‘Go [at once] and show yourselves to the priest. AND AS THEY WENT, they were cured and made clean.”
[15] “Then one of them, upon seeing that he was cured, turned back, recognizing and thanking and praising God with a loud voice.”
[16] “And he fell prostrate at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him [over and over]. And he was a Samaritan.”
[17]“Then Jesus asked, ‘were not all ten cleansed? Where are the nine?”
[18] “Was there no one found to return and recognize and give thanks and praise to God except this alien?”
[19] “And he said to him, ‘Get up and go on your way. Your faith [your trust and confidence that spring from your belief in God] has restored you to health.”
[II] WHAT DO I SEE IN THIS SCRIPTURE?
Jesus Cares.
Leprosy is a dreaded disease. Back then, it isolated the leper from all other people. If a leper approached someone, they were to cry out, UNCLEAN! UNCLEAN! No one was to touch a leper. In the Old Testament, under the law, if you touched a leper, you were unclean, In the New Covenant that Jesus brought to us, Jesus touched a leper and the Leper was cleansed and made whole [See Matthew 8:1-3].
Leprosy is a metaphor for sin. A sinner is UNCLEAN until Jesus comes and touches him/her. I believe that we should be just that determined for Jesus to touch us or send the Word and heal us. If we are sinners, or if we are burdened down with addictions, disease in our bodies, or emotional wounds, we need to cry out with all of our heart, soul, and strength for Jesus to cleanse us and make us whole.
[c] We see in verse 13 that the ten lepers were bold and apparently unafraid. No doubt they were desperate for help. I believe that somehow they knew that Jesus loved them and would help them. I believe that the crowd tried to hush them, but as blind Bartimaeus did, they got louder, and Jesus cleansed them. [SEE LUKE 18:35-43].
Obedience
We see here that obedience is closely connected with faith. The ten lepers were told by Jesus to go show themselves to the priest. This was the Levitical law that the leper when he was healed had to go to the priest and undergo a lot of ritual and waiting before he was pronounced clean. The ten started down the road to go show themselves to the priest [See Leviticus 14:1-32].
“And as they were going, they were cleansed” [Luke 17:14b, NASB]. They started down the road and as they went, they were cleansed. We do not know how far they had gone, but I don’t believe it was very far, because one of them turned back and came to Jesus. He knew where Jesus was.
[C] The Importance of Being Thankful
One of the cleansed lepers turned back and falling prostrate at Jesus’ feet worshipped Him, thanking Him over and over. Are we that thankful when Jesus answers our prayers for healing or otherwise? We need to be! We need to be thankful and worship Him.
Jesus seemed surprised that only one of the “lepers” came back to thank Him. Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the nine? The one that came back was an alien, a foreigner, a Samaritan. At that time, Jesus had come to the Jews only, but His compassion was so great that even the Samaritan was made whole. When Jesus was crucified and resurrected, He brought in the New Covenant. This included all the foreigners [Gentiles].
[c] Jesus wants to save and heal you also, no matter how much you have been abused, mistreated, no matter how much you have abused yourselves with drugs or alcohol, He loves you and wants to cleanse you and make you whole.
[D] It is Always God’s Will to Heal
I realize that not everyone will agree with me here, but put it on the back burner and study the Scriptures. Jesus didn’t say, “I’m only going to heal 5 of you. My Father said to heal only 5, and I only do what I see Him do.” No, Jesus didn’t leave anyone out. There are many reasons why people are not always healed, but let’s not dwell on that, lets think about the ones that are healed. We should never elevate an experience above the Word of God! There are many Scriptures that teach about the will of God in healing. We will mention just a few, [See Matthew 8:1-3; 6:10; Isaiah 53:4-5]. [
