HAPPINESS CONNECTED WITH OBEDIENCE TO THE LAW TO CHRIST.
JAMES 1:25, "THIS MAN SHALL BE BLESSED IN HIS DEED."
I. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE GOSPEL REVELATION.
James calls it THE LAW. THE LAW OF LIBERTY and the perfect law of liberty.
The gospel revelation is the law of the Christian. The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
The gospel revelation is the law of liberty, in describing which we can not, perhaps, more simply and impressibly dwell upon it than by keeping before the mind the contrast between the Old and New Testament revelation.
The gospel revelation is the law of perfect liberty.
There is perfection in every thing that originates with God. It opens up and points out the way to happiness and God.
Now, this perfect law of liberty is given to us that we may know the mind and will of God concerning our salvation.
II. THE CONDUCT OF THOSE WHO ARE INFLUENCED BY IT.
Such conduct is described in our text s looking into it, continuing therein, and doing the work.
The Christian cannot rest satisfied unless he is looking into the law of the gospel so as to be transformed by it into the likeness of Christ.
The continuance therein proves that with the true Christian religion is not of an evanescent character. The Christian is the subject of many changes.
Continuing therein presents a line of conduct directly in contrast with that of the casual observer.
Doing the work is knowledge reduce to practice, theory carried to a living embodiment of truth, and principle followed to active development. Have a great day and if you can, go to church. Love to all in Christ Jesus. James.
