GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE OR FORSAKE
HIS PEOPLE #2
I. PAUL’S SHIPWRECK ACTS 27:23-44
VERSE 23&24 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am and whom I serve. Saying, fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Ceasar; and lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with you.”
The angel told Paul to not be afraid, God in His goodness, have saved you and all that are with you. We all have an angel that takes care of us, if I didn’t I would have been dead a long time ago. Paul said to them---Men take courage; for I trust in God, that it will be just as I was told. All of them escaped to land, using the broken pieces of the ship to ride on. They all got to land safely.
They were holding on to boards and some were holding on to broken pieces of he ship. They all got to shore safely.
II. CHILDREN OF ISRAEL—EGYPT BONDAGE. Exodus 12:10, The plagues were poured out on Egypt.
EXO 12:29, And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the first born in the land of Egypt, From the first born of Pharaoh that sat on the throne unto the first born of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the first born of cattle.”
The first born are slain of the Egypt people from rulers on down. The ones that didn’t have the blood on their door post. He saved the children of Israel by the blood. Does that sound like something Christ did for us, gave His blood that we could be saved.
God told Moses while it was still night to get His people and get out of bondage and go and serve the Lord as they were supposed to.
Pharaoh knew that God was doing this to free His people, yet He got up an army and followed them.
They were trapped, The army on one side of them and the river on the other, God told Moses to stretch out his hand over the river, and he obeyed. God caused a wind to come up and blow the water back on each side and they went across on dry land. The army got into the river and God caused the water to come back and drown. There is nothing too hard for God, He will take care of His children. There is much more on what God did for people, time or space will not permit me to post all of it today. Will post the rest tomorrow. Blessings to all of you. (Shepherd.)
VII. SHADRACH, MESHACH, OBEDNEGO.
DANIEL 3:15-25..
VERSE 15. NOW IF YE BE READY THAT AT WHAT TIME YE HEAR THE SOUND OF THE CORNET, FLUTE, HARP, SACKBUT, PSALTERY, AND DULCIMER, AND ALL KINDS OF MUSIC, YE FALL DOWN AND WORSHIP THE IMAGE WHICH I HAVE MADE WELL; BUT IF YE WORSHIP NOT. YE SHALL BE CAST THE SAME HOUR INTO THE MIDST OF THE BURNING FIERY FURNACE; AND WHO IS THAT GOD THAT SHALL DELIVER YOU OUT OF MY HANDS.
The king was going to put the ones that would not worship the image that he had made they would be put in the fiery furnace. He was going to force them
worship the image.
VERSE 16.. SHADRACH, MESHACH, AND ABEDNEGO, ANSWERED AND SAID TO THE KING, O NEBUCHADNEZZER, WE ARE NOT CAREFUL TO ANSWER THEE IN THIS MATTER.
They told the king we are not careful to answer you in this matter. They were serving a living God.
We will not worship this image.
VERSE 17...IF IT BE SO, OUR GOD WHOM WE SERVE IS ABLER TO DELIVER US FROM THE BURNING FIERY FURNACE, AND HE WILL DELIVER US OUT OF THINE HAND, O KING.
If you do put us in the fiery furnace our God whom we serve will deliver us out your hands, o king.
VERSE 19...The king COMMANDED THE THEY SHOULD HEAT THE FURNACE ONE SEVEN TIMES MORE THAN IT WAS WONT TO BE HEATED.
He said for them to heat the furnace seven times hotter than it had been heated before.
VERSE 25... LO, I SEE FOUR MEN LOOSE, WALKING IN THE MIDST OF THE FIRE AND THEY HAVE NO HURT, AND THE FORM OF THE FOURTH IS LIKE THE SON OF GOD.
God went into the furnace with them, and He protected them from the fire. They had no hurt.
He will walk with us through the problems and trials we have if we walk before Him with a holy life.
We must keep His commandments at all times not just one day a week.
CONCLUSION
Are we God’s people—Do w e pray each and everyday—Do we know that God will hear us when we pray—we need to stay in touch with God.
