WHEN GOD SPEAKS
I. JONAH..1:1-17, 2:1-10...
VERSES 1-2.. NOW THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME UNTO JONAH THE SON OF AMITTAL, SAYING—ARISE, GO TO NINEVEH, THAT GREAT CITY, AND CRY AGAINST IT FOR THEIR WICKEDNESS IS COME UP BEFORE ME. The Lord told Jonah to go to Nineveh and proclaim against it, for their wickedness is know to the Lord. So He told Jonah to go and to preach to the city.
But we see Jonah disobeyed the Lord and he found a ship and went to Tarshish from being in the presents of the Lord. He paid his fare and wet down into the ship to go with them to Tarshish trying to get away from the presents of the Lord.
But the Lord had other plans for Him and He sent a great wind and there was a violent tempest on the sea so that the ship was about to sink. The men on board became afraid and cried to their god, they began to unload the ship to lighten it. But Jonah has gone down into the bottom part of the ship and went to sleep.
The captain of the ship ask him what was doing sleeping when they were is this kind of danger and ask him to get up and call on his God so that they would not perish. So they cast Jonah over board into the sea. They did this to find out who’s evil was the cause of this evil.
Jonah told them that he was a Hebrew, and he fear the Lord. Then the men were afraid and said to Jonah, what is this that you have done? The men knew that he had fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.
Then they ask Jonah. What should we do unto you, that the sea may quite down. The sea is getting more violently rough. They ask him what should they do with him, so as the sea may become calm for they knew that he was the cause of the sea being rough..
He told them to take him up and cast him into the sea. They cried to the Lord to not let them perish for this man. Lay not upon us the innocent blood; for you, Lord have done as ity pleased you. And they took Jonah and cast him into the sea. And the seas became calm. They were obedient to the Lord.
The men worshiped the Lord and offered sacrifice to Him, and made their vows to Him.
The Lord had prepared a big fish to swallow Jonah, and he was in the belly of the whale for three days and nights. Then Jonah prayed to the Lord crying out in his distress to the Lord and the Lord heard him. and the fish vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
II. JOSHUA..6:1-5, 20....

You see the city of Jericho was a town that had a high wall around it, so no one could go in or out. And the Lord said to Joshua, listen I have given this city of Jericho and the might men into your hands. You should follow my instructions and the city is yours. March around it once ever day, but on the seven day march around it seven times and the priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns; and the priests shall blow the trumpets. And the people shall shout; and the wall of the city will fall down And the people shall go up every man straight before Joshua.
