Having The Love Of Christ
1 Corinthians 13:13,” NOW ABIDETH FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE, BUT THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE.” Most secular songs, fall short about the truth of love. In fact their lyrics may confuse it with lust. The Bible, however, dearly instructs us about love. This is not surprising since its Author is love, 1John 4:8. This passage from Paul’s first letter to the church at Corinth covered the study and focused on love, we will fulfill the love described in 1 Cor. 13 and discover the best way to live. The term “love” is not only a noun it is a verb also. This tells us something important. Love is not simply a concept, emotion or feeling. It is also something we do. The Bible reminds us of this, “LET US NOT LOVE IN WORD, NEITHER IN TONGUE; BUT IN DEED AND IN TRUTH.” 1 John 3:18. Examine your relationships in the light of this. How can you show Christ love to the people you associate with daily? Look for practical ways to show them godly love. Some people prove to be difficult to love. If this is the case of some people you know, ask God to help you. God tells us to love everyone also our enemies. Keep in mind that you will show them the love of God, when you reflect His love. You may actually win them to Christ. The way we treat people will have far reaching effects on them. Paul compares love to spiritual gifts. Let us hold Christ up in the way we love everyone. Have a good Sunday. Love you all Sunshine.
