His Timing
Even Christians are not immune to struggles with waiting- especially waiting for the Lord to answer prayer. When His answer is slow in coming, we may be tempted to run ahead of Him, and when we do we most every time get in trouble. We need to follow Jesus’s example. Before beginning His ministry, He knew He would have only three short years to teach the plan of salvation to twelve men. who often would not get it. Beyond the huge amount of work He had to accomplish, were the needs of people He saw every day, and we know Jesus would not turn anyone away. He knew why He was on the earth. So why not get on with it?
Obedience to His Father’s will required that Jesus wait for Isaiah’s prophecy to be fulfilled. He needed to wait for the ministry of John the Baptist. His Father had told Him. I will send my messenger ahead of you. Who will prepare the way for you.” (Mark 1:2.)
Not a day too soon or a day too late, Jesus arrived at the Jordan to be baptized by John. Each of us need to move in the same divine timing as we seek to fulfill God’s plan in our individual lives.
We need to pray, “Father forgive my impatience, help me to trust You and Your perfect timing in all things. Amen. Remember God loved you enough to send His only Son to die on the cross that we could have ever lasting life. This Christmas season remember just how much God loves you that He would send His only Son to die that we might live. This should make every one of us want to live for Christ because he was born to die for us.
