The Renanant
We need to know that the woman mentioned in the next verse represents Israel. A remanant of them will be saved and hid away they will be the ones that replenish the earth during the thousand years ,Christ and His Saints will rule and reign over them.
Revelatian 12:14, “ AND TO THE WOMAN WAS GIVEN TWO WINGS OF A GREAT EAGLE, THAT SHE MIGHT FLY INTO THE WILDERNESS, INTO A PLACE, WHERE SHE IS NOURISHED FOR A TIME AND TIMES AND A HALF FROM THE FACE OF THE SERPENT.” (THREE AND ONE HALF YEARS). Serpent here meaning the antichrist.
Zech. 13:9, “AND I WILL BRING THE THIRD PART THROUGH THE FIRE, AND WILL REFINE THEM AS SILVER IS REFINED, AND WILL TRY THEM AS GOLD IS TRIED; THEY SHALL CALL ON MY NAME AND I WILL HEAR THEM; AND THEY SHALL SAY THE LORD IS MY LORD.”
Thus it seems that one third of Israel will remain true to God and be aloud to escape into a special hiding place where the antichrist cannot hurt them. Many think this place is Petra. I also think it is. Daniel 11:4 tells us that the antichrist shall overthrow many countries, but he will not be able to touch Edom. Christ is in control there.
Zech. 14:5, “AND YE SHALL FLY TO THE VALLEY OF THE MOUNTAINS , FOR THE VALLEY OF THE MOUNTAINS SHALL REACH INTO AZAH, YEA, YE SHALL FLEE AND THE LORD SHALL COME AND ALL THE SAINTS WITH HIM.”
The first few verses of Isaiah 63rd chapter deal with the second coming of Christ, that is when He comes back to the earth with all of His Saints to stop the Armageddon war and clean up this world, we will rule and reign with Him for a thousand years, that is another lesson. He comes to Edom of which Petra is the Capital. Many believe the reason is to receive His remanant who are hiding there.
