SILENCE IN HEAVEN
REV. 8:1-2AND WHEN HE HAD OPENED THE SEVENTH SEAL, THERE WAS SILENCE IN HEAVEN ABOUT THE SPACE OF HALF AN HOUR.
AND I SAW THE SEVEN ANGELS WHICH STOOD BEFORE GOD; AND TO THEM WERE GIVEN SEVEN TRUMPETS.
When the Lamb opens the seventh seal of the sealed book, seven angels will appear before the golden altar which is before the throne of God; to the angels will be given seven trumpets of judgment. The seven angels will stand in quietness before the throne while the memorable event of all prayers transpired. (Text). The silence of about thirty minutes will be a pause before the storm of wrath.
The seven angels will then sound their trumpets and the wrath of God will fall upon the wicked men of the earth without mercy. A plague will fall upon the earth or sea as each angel sounds his trumpet. The heavenly disturbance will cause lightning and thundering out of the throne of God. REV. 4:5.. AND OUT OF THE THRONE PROCEEDED LIGHTNING AND THUNDERINGS AND VOICES; AND THERE WERE SEVEN LAMPS OF FIRE BURNING BEFORE THE THRONE, WHICH ARE THE SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD.
Sitting upon thrones will be the raptured elder saints who have overcome and have had part in the first resurrection. The elders will hold in their hands golden vials full of the prayers of all saints. The prayers will be offered with much incense upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God. REV. 5:8..AND WHEN HE HAD TAKEN THE BOOK, THE FOUR BEASTS AND FOUR AND TWENTY ELDERS FELL DOWN BEFORE THE LAMB, HAVING EVERY ONE OF THEM HARPS, AND GOLDEN VIALS FULL OF ODORS, WHICH ARE THE PRAYERS OF SAINTS.
John also saw an angel standing before the altar holding in his hand a golden censer; there will be given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar.
The prayers of the saints have been reserved unto the time of this heavenly event. It is possible the elders are holding the vials containing their own prayers. The prayers of all saint will come up before God, as did the prayers of Cornelius in ACT 10:4.. AND WHEN HE LOOKED ON HIM, HE WAS AFRAID, AND SAID, WHAT IS IT, LORD? AND HE SAID UNTO HIM, THY PRAYERS AND THINE ALMS ARE COME UP FOR A MEMORIAL BEFORE GOD.
Isaiah the prophet informed Hezekiah that God had heard his prayers and had seen his tears. (Isa. 38:1-5). He sees our tears and hears our prayers.
Jesus said the men ought always to pray, and not to faint. (LUKE 18:1). While on earth Jesus became an example in His prayer life. he prayed often to His heavenly Father, and He taught His disciples to pray. Jesus made a promise unto His disciples that He would pray to the Father after He had reentered heaven; and the Father would send them another Comforter, the Holy Ghost..(John 134:16-17). Paul admonished the saints to PRAY WITHOUT CEASING. I THESS. 5:17.
During the silent period the seven trumpet angels held their peace. The angel holding the golden censer came forth and offered the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar. When the prayers we re offered, the angel stood before the altar AND THE SMOKE OF THE INCENSE WHICH CAME WITH THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS ASCENDED UP BEFORE GOD OUT THE ANGELS HAND. AND THE ANGEL TOOK THE CENSER AND FILLED IT WITH FIRE FROM THE ALTAR, AND CAST IT INTO THE EARTH; AND THERE WERE VOICES, AND THUNDERINGS, AND LIGHTNING, AND AN EARTHQUAKE. REV. 8:3-5.
A heavenly atmospheric occurrence of lightning and thundering broke the silence, and the seven angels prepared to sound their trumpets. The people on earth during the great Tribulation will behold this eventful disturbance and will hear the voices, which in all probability are the prayers of the saints that were offered unto the heavenly Father before the Rapture.
