MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB
REV. 19:7...LET US BE GLAD AND REJOICE, AND GIVE HONOR TO HIM; FOR THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB IS COME, AND HIS WIFE HATH MADE HERSELF READY.
The marriage of the Lamb will be an event that will transpire in heaven. The marriage supper will follow the wedding of the Lamb, and will be attended by the saints of all ages; however, the rapture saints will make up the bride of Jesus. The marriage will take place the close of the great tribulation, just before Christ returns for the Armageddon.
REV. 19:7-9...LET US BE GLAD AND REJOICE, AND GIVE HONOR TO HIM; FOR THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB IS COME, AND HIS WIFE HATH MADE HERSELF READY.
AND TO HER WAS GRANTED THAT SHE SHOULD BE ARRAYED IN FINE LINEN, CLEAN AND WHITE; FOR THE FINE LINEN IS THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF SAINTS.
AND HE SAITH UNTO ME, WRITE, BLESSED ARE THEY WHICH ARE CALLED UNTO THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB. AND HE SAITH UNTO ME, THESE ARE THE TRUE SAYINGS OF GOD. (VERSES 11-21).
The wife of the Lamb will make herself ready and will be arrayed in white linen, which is the righteousness of the saints. The bride is the true Church which will be raptured when Jesus returns in the sky. She will come to the earth with Him to reign on the earth in His kingdom. The wife of Christ will be composed of the church-bride. She will be presented to Christ as a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish. (Eph. 5:27).
Those who will have part in the first resurrection must be holy. The wise virgins who had oil in their lamps symbolize the Rapture saints. (Rev. 20:6).
When Jesus comes into the heavens, He will appear first unto those who are looking for Him; (HEB. 9:28..UNTO THEM THAT LOOK FOR HIM SHALL HE APPEAR THE SECOND TIME WITHOUT SIN UNTO SALVATION), then when He returns to the earth, the Rapture saints will come with Him, and all eyes shall behold Him in His eternal glory as king of kings and lord of lords.
REV. 1:7...BEHOLD, HE COMETH WITH CLOUDS; AND EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, AND THEY ALSO WHICH PIERCED HIM; AND ALL KINDREDS OF THE EARTH SHALL WAIL BECAUSE OF HIM. EVEN SO. AMEN.
JUDE 14..BEHOLD, THE LORD COMETH WITH TEN THOUSANDS OF HIS SAINTS.
Paul depicts the Church as the bride of Jesus, FOR THIS CAUSE SHALL A MAN LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL BE JOINED UNTO HIS WIFE, AND THEY TWO SHALL BE ONE FLESH. THIS IS A GREAT MYSTERY; BUT I SPEAK CONCERNING CHRIST AND THE CHURCH. EPH. 5:31-32.
While Jesus was on the earth, He referred to Himself as the Bridegroom (Matt. 9:15).
John the Baptist also called Jesus the Bridegroom, and said that His friends would rejoice to hear His voice..(John 3:29).
The righteous will hear His voice and will come forth unto the resurrection of life (John 5:28-29).
The transition of the church-bride as the wife of the Lamb is also depicted in the marriage of Adam and Eve. Adam said, THIS IS NOW BONE OF MY BONES, AND FLESH OF MY FLESH; SHE SHALL BE CALLED WOMAN, BECAUSE SHE WAS TAKEN OUT OF MAN. GEN.. 2:23.
The Bride of Jesus Christ is descried in the same manner; FOR WE ARE MEMBERS OF HIS BODY, OF HIS FLESH, AND OF HIS BONES..EPH. 5:30. Therefore, the Bride of Jesus will be raptured from His body, which is the Church..(Eph. 1:22-23)
Those who lived under the Law of Moses were bound by the law, and will also be judged by the law. God was married unto Israel by the promise made unto Abraham, but He put Israel away and was no longer her husband, neither was Israel His wife. (Hosea 2:2).
When the Lord Jesus came into the world, the law died; therefore, we are to be married to another, even to him who is raise from the dead. Romans 7:1-4.
Christ is not now married to anyone, not even to the backslider. To become the wife of Jesus Christ, we must make ourselves ready.
There will be many who will be called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. (Rev. 19:9). We are informed in Scripture that we will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God (Luke 13:28-29).
There are those who were invited, but because they loved this present world, they will not be present for the marriage nor the supper. It is also possible that the tribulation saints who come out of the great tribulation will be at the supper. They will not be part of the bride of Christ, but they could be the guests of the Lord Jesus at His marriage and supper. (Matt. 22:10; Rev. 7:13-17).
The raptured saints and the guests will have a plentiful supply of good food to eat at the marriage supper of Lamb. BEHOLD, I HAVE PREPARED MY DINNER; MY OXEN AND MY FATLINGS ARE KILLED, AND ALL THINGS ARE READY; COME UNTO THE MARRIAGE. MATTHEW 22:4.
Some who were invited to the marriage will not taste of the supper of the Lamb–at least it will be tasty (Luke 14:24). These are those who did not make it like the foolish virgins.
Jesus will partake of the supper with His raptured saints; I WILL NOT DRINK HENCEFORTH OF THIS FRUIT OF THE VINE, UNTIL THAT DAY WHEN I DRINK IT NEW WITH YOU IN MY FATHER’S KINGDOM. MATT. 26:29.
The following is a list of a few of the things which the saints will partake of; they will eat bread in the kingdom of God; they will eat fruit from the tree of life; they will eat the hidden manna; the Lamb will feed them..(Luke 14:15; Rev. 2:7, 17; 7:17).
Men have eaten angel’ food; so why should the overcoming saints not eat food from heaven. (Psalm 78:23-25).
God gave the widow corn meal from heaven. He prepared a cake of bread for Elijah in the wilderness. (I Kings 19:4-8; 17:15-16).
Will the Lord prepare a table for the supper of the Lamb? Those in the wildness in the time of Moses questioned God in this matter. YEA, THEY SPAKE AGAINST GOD; THEY SAID, CAN GOD FURNISH A TABLE IN THE WILDERNESS. PSALM 78:19.
God did furnish a table, but it was the ground. However, before the manna fell God sent down the dew as a cover for the table. David believed that God could prepare a table before us, even in the presence our enemies (Psalm 23:5).
Jesus had this to say about His table, “I appoint unto you a kingdom—that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones, (Rev. 4:4), judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Rev. 7:2-8; Luke 22:30).
