SATAN RELEASED FROM THE PIT
REV. 20: 1-3... AND I SAW AN ANGEL COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, HAVING THE KEY OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT AND A GREAT CHAIN IN IS HAND.
AND HE LAID HOLD ON THE DRAGON, THAT OLD SERPENT, WHICH IS THE DEVIL, AND SATAN, AND BOUND HIM A THOUSAND YEARS,
AND CAST HIM INTO THE BOTTOMLESS PIT, AND SHUT HIM UP, AND SET A SEAL UPON HIM, THAT HE SHOULD DECEIVE THE NATIONS NO MORE, TILL THE THOUSAND YEARS SHOULD BE FULFILLED; AND AFTER THAT HE MUST BE LOOSED A LITTLE SEASON.
The binding of Satan will take place after the Armageddon battle of the kings. And angel, having a great chain and the key of the bottomless pit, will come down from the heavens where God’s throne is located. Satan will be bound in the pit, and a seal placed upon him so that he cannot deceive the nations until after the thousand years are completed.. (text).
During the millennium Satan will not be converted, but merely bound with his evil work. When he is released, he will continue his deceitful work among the nations. The nations will be privileged to live on the earth during the reign of Christ as king and Lord. Satan will decieve as many as the sands of the sea and bring them back to fight against Christ and His Saints. You would think that after being with Christ on the earth for a thousand years and with peace on the earth.that they could not be deceived, and it looks like Satan would give up, well he finally had to when he was whipped and thrown into the lake of fire where the beast and the false prophets are. The nations are referred to as the remnant of Gog and Magog, but they are not to be confused with the northern kingdom of Gog and Magog–believed to be Russia–which will invade Israel. (Eze. 39:1-20).
The releasing of Satan will not affect the Antichrist and the False Prophet; they will be in the lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Rev. 19:20; 20:10).
Satan will go among the nations, which will be located in the four cardinal points of the earth, and will deceive many of them into forming an army to fight against Christ Jesus and His saints who are about the old city of Jerusalem. Satan will be given a brief period of time to complete his work. When he is cast out of the heavens unto the earth, he knows that his time is short. (Rev. 12:12; 20:3).
Satan, known as Lucifer, was cast out from the presence of other angels when he sinned against God (Isa. 14:1-15). He sinned, in that he thought in his heart to be like God. (Eze. 28:15-17).
The battle of the Magog armies will be briefly fought. They will come to Jerusalem and will surround the camp of the saints and the beloved city. Christ will be on the earth completing His reign, and all His saints will be in camp with Him. (Rev. 20:7-9).
Bear in mind that out God is a consuming fire, and that He is able to destroy all evil forces of Satan. In the time of Elijah the prophet, God sent fire out of the heavens and consumed a captain and his fifty men who came against the man of God.
When Satan leads the remnant of Gog and Magog, the nations, against Christ and His saints, God will send fire out of the heavens and devour them. The nations will be annihilated, and they will become ashes underneath the feet of the reigning saints. (Malachi 1:1-3). This event will mark the end of human life upon the earth.
Christ will gather His saints and return before the throne of God. He will deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father. Then will come the end of earthly power and authority; the white throne judgment will be set, and all who have lived upon the earth will stand before God. They will witness the passing away of the old heaven and the old earth. (I Cor. 15:24-28; Rev. 20:11-15).
From the White Throne judgment, the saints will enter the holy city of God, which will come down out of the new heaven; and there will be a new earth. This will be a glorious time for all. (Rev. 21:1-8).
